Excellent article that helps dispel the Media Myth that the Nation’s Infant Mortality Rate signals a failed Health System.  I love articles like this that use a little common sense and some Facts to set the record straight on reports and stories that the Media utilize time and time again to bolster a position that they want the public to believe in (such as the Infant Mortality rate being higher in the US than other Industrialized Countries ).  The Media throws these out as fact all the time when in reality it is akin to them feeding the public “Wind Pudding & Air Sauce” which has no sustenance at all.  This is just another example of the Media Malpractice that is so prevalent in our Country.

Don’t Try this at Home Award!

Safe and Scary Kitchen Hacks from Alton Brown (Food Network).  Alton Brown has the only show that I like watch on the Food Network, Now my wife is a different story and watches several.  I will on occasion watch some other Food Shows with her but that is really only for Brownie Points and is in itself another story that I don’t think anybody wants to read about.   Anyway,  Alton Brown’s popular TV Show “Good Eats“  is great entertainment for many of us less Culinary inclined people as well as others like my wife who are more serious about their food preparatory skills.  He entertains and teaches as he brings you into the depths of his food hobby.  He shows a vast knowledge of obscure, entertaining, facts while offering tips and tricks around the Kitchen (and Grill) and playfully entertains you with his satirical, almost slapstick humor.  He also can appeal to the Geek in you as he does in the following linked story.
